A question came up: Where can you get pita bread?
If not, call Erma's Nutrition Center in Nassau Bay. The adddress and phone # are in the appendix in the book on page 57. They have it some times and not at others, so call and check.
You can try Peak Nutrition Center in Galveston. They carry Ezekiel products.

Whole Foods in Houston is also a good place to check.
Of course, if you can't get pita just cut an Ezekiel tortilla in half and
pop the folded half into a toaster - you will end with with a nice taco shell
that you can use instead of the pita.
I stopped by Peaks yesterday afternoon. They don't carry, but she's going to see if they can order it. If so, she'll call to let me know.
ReplyDeleteI also called Kroger and requested they carry. They have bread and tortillas.
Thanks, Pat. This is how we build a community and change our "food environment" one step at a time. We need to make sure that healthy food is just as easy to find as the other stuff!
DeleteHEB at 646 doesn't have the tortillas! surprise!
ReplyDeleteBut Kroger seems to - I just picked up some from the Kroger on 518 in League city.
DeleteErma's does not have the tortillas at this time - the order did not come in. They will let me know as soon as they get some and I will let all of you know.
Erma's called me- the tortillas are in.
