Pasta:

A question came up today's meeting (May 21) about pasta. This is AFTER the first two weeks have been completed.

Hodgson Mills makes a good whole-wheat pasta. If you can't find this, any whole wheat pasta will do. BUT - watch the amount. You should not have more than would fill one-third of your plate!

FREESTYLING!

Many of you from the April 30 group will be doing your first Freestyling meal this week. Congratulations!

Read the instructions carefully, and DO NOT over-eat. Your stomach has shrunk and you may become uncomfortable.

Also, avoid your TRIGGER FOODS.

Post your Freestyling experiences here...
RECIPES!

The early starters from the April 30 group will be finishing their first two weeks on May 15, and others will reach that milestone shortly afterwards.

You should now review the "Food choices after the first two weeks" on Page 52, and start developing your own recipes. You can also use recipes posted on  www.bluebonnethealth.com .

If you want to distribute some of your own recipes, post them here. However, please send the recipes to me for review before you post them!

A question came up: Where can you get pita bread?

You can try Peak Nutrition Center in Galveston. They carry Ezekiel products.
6187 Central City Boulevard Galveston, TX 77551
(409) 740-6949

If not, call Erma's Nutrition Center in Nassau Bay. The adddress and phone # are in the appendix in the book on page 57. They have it some times and not at others, so call and check.

Whole Foods in Houston is also a good place to check.

Of course, if you can't get pita just cut an Ezekiel tortilla in half and pop the folded half into a toaster - you will end with with a nice taco shell that you can use instead of the pita.

Some hardy souls went shopping after the workshop and have already started the program. Bravo!

In the first few days, it is normal to be hungry at times. Psych yourself up and be ready. Anticipate the hunger and resolve not to give in to it. Your body is protesting; it likes the old ways. It likes its every whim being catered to. But now you are the boss. You will decide when and what to eat.

The hunger also means that you are already dipping into the glycogen tank. The fat tank will be next. That is good!

Your hunger will become less and less with every passing day. Hang tight, and you will look back at these first few days with a great sense of accomplishment.
